[photogallerylink id=27438 align=left]When [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Ne-Yo[/lastfm] said in an interview that he regretted giving away his song Irreplaceable to [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Beyonce[/lastfm], and when that interview then started blazing up the internet, some Beyonce fans saw it as if he were dissing her Sasha Fierceness. But Ne-Yo took right to his Twitter account to try and clear things up.
If you ask me, there’s no dissing, just respect, for Beyonce in the interview. Listen and see what you think:
And here is where it all stems from:
Here is how Ne-Yo responded to the “controversy” via Twitter:
@TexasMoneyBags Aiight my dude. Send me the link to where I said ANYTHING disrespectful about Beyonce' PLEASE! Dying to hear this….—
Ne-Yo!! (@NeYoCompound) March 13, 2011
Just heard the audio where I supposedly dissed Beyonce. ARE Y'ALL SERIOUS!?! Did y'all even listen to what I said!?!—
Ne-Yo!! (@NeYoCompound) March 13, 2011
I said I originally wrote the song for me. That's true, so OF COURSE I didn't want to give it away originally. IT WAS FOR ME….—
Ne-Yo!! (@NeYoCompound) March 13, 2011
…Once I realized how the song comes across if sang by a guy, that's when I decided to give it away. HOW IS THAT DISSING BEYONCE!?!—
Ne-Yo!! (@NeYoCompound) March 13, 2011
She took the song and made it a smash, NOBODY can deny that….—
Ne-Yo!! (@NeYoCompound) March 13, 2011
You know what? At first I was apologetic about what the hacker said, now that I've heard the audio myself, not so much…..—
Ne-Yo!! (@NeYoCompound) March 13, 2011
…Y'all should listen a lil' harder before you start dissin' people. Makes you look real dumb. I'm tired of being nice to dumb people…—
Ne-Yo!! (@NeYoCompound) March 13, 2011
…Bottom line, Beyonce is my friend. To HELL with anybody that ain't SMART enough to understand what I truly meant…..—
Ne-Yo!! (@NeYoCompound) March 13, 2011
Ne-Yo tried to put the kabosh on the whole thing with what we thought would be his last tweet on the subject:
My twitter time is now for those that deserve it, MY FRIENDS, MY FANS, MY FAM!! Haters die slow. At the Knicks game. GO GET EM' MELO!!—
Ne-Yo!! (@NeYoCompound) March 13, 2011
But less than ten minutes later he came back to answer the hating allegations again:
@_StalinsTomb Bruh imma answer you cause you're clearly confused. THAT song was NOT written in a Beyonce' session. I WROTE IT FIRST FOR ME.—
Ne-Yo!! (@NeYoCompound) March 13, 2011
Finally, it appears that he has truly moved on:
And with that I'm done. On another note, who's seen BATTLE:LA? Honest opinions? Should I keep acting or no? LOL!!—
Ne-Yo!! (@NeYoCompound) March 13, 2011
His film Battle: Los Angeles was the big winner at the box office over the weekend, bringing in $35.6 million.
So what do you think? Was there any sort of dis at all to Beyonce in the interview?
