Erykah Badu is set to travel to Atlanta this summer now that she’s been named as the headliner for the 40th birthday celebration of Tupac Shakur.
Badu will hit the stage June 16 at the Atlanta Symphony Hall alongside Roy Ayers, Eric Roberson and Hip-Hop heavyweights [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Too Short[/lastfm], [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Bun B[/lastfm], [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]8 Ball and MJG[/lastfm].
Proceeds from the event will benefit the Tupac Amaru Shakur Foundation for the Arts.
Comedian and actor Mike Epps has joined forces with Afeni Shakur for a third time and will host the occasion.
Speaking on his hosting duties, Epps released a statement saying,
“I’m looking forward to another year of preserving Tupac’s legacy by celebrating his life with his fans and furthering his causes by supporting his organization.”
Badu also released a statement on the occasion saying,
“I am greatly honored to have been invited by Afeni Shakur to celebrate her son’s 40th birthday. I do not take this honor for granted.”
