“Best Love Song” is the lead single off of T-Pain’s new album RevolveR. Here, the King of AutoTune creates another one of his signature earworm club tunes.
“Best Love Song” is basically a song about itself. In it, an unnamed narrator implores the DJ to put on the ultimate love song, so that he might seduce the woman of his dreams on the dance floor. And what might that best love song be? Well… T-Pain has your answer.
Much of the talk surrounding T-Pain is in regards to his constant use of AutoTune in his vocals, people either seem to love it or hate it. His real strength, however, is as a producer, and that is on full display on “Best Love Song.” The track begins with a bubbling piano line that feels like the first intimations of love, and then the beat drops and gets you putting those feeling to good use. With each new instrument layer added, the song climbs higher and higher towards some ideal that exists in T-Pain mind.
Chris Brown turns in a solid performance on his verse and during the chorus, but the real star of the show is the larger than life atmosphere that T-Pain creates with his studio wizardry.
