Michael Jackson Tribute Concert Went On Without A Hitch!

[photogallerylink id=61844 align=left]The big [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Michael Jackson[/lastfm] tribute concert was this past weekend despite the Dr. Conrad Murray trial and certain members of the Jackson family not approving of the timing for the show. But regardless of that, the concert did sell out and drew huge numbers.

According to HiphopDX.com:

It’s a star-studded affair as fans and music stars alike gather to honor the King of Pop.

A veritable who’s who of music was on deck to perform at Michael Jackson’s tribute concert.

[lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Ne-Yo[/lastfm], one of many artists clearly influenced by the King of Pop, set the festivities off with classics such as “Billie Jean” and “The Lady in My Life,” complete with jacket and glove.

[lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Beyonce[/lastfm] performed via satellite an Afro, and performed “I Wanna Be Where You Are,” after being introduced by Jackson’s children, Blanket, Prince and Paris.

Other performers included[lastfm link_type="artist_info"] Christina Aguilera[/lastfm] (“Smile,” “Dirty Diana”), “X Factor” winner [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Alexandra Burke[/lastfm] (“Who’s Lovin’ You,” “Scream”), and [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Leona Lewis[/lastfm] (“Strangers in Moscow”).

A highlight of the show [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]La Toya Jackson[/lastfm], whose performance was her first in two decades, performed “In the Closet” and “Jam” with [lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Heavy D[/lastfm].

[lastfm link_type="artist_info"]Cee Lo Green[/lastfm] also contributed, belting out “I Can’t Help It.”

I’m glad the concert was a huge success for the family in general, but they do need to get back and focus on the trial of Dr. Murray. Their presence in the court room has a huge impact on the jury.
