Waka Flocka Flame, the high-energy rapper known for his raucous club hits, takes aim at dog abuse in a new PSA for animal rights group PETA.
In the behind-the-scenes video from the photo shoot, Waka explains why he decided to join the campaign against dog chaining and animal abuse.
“An animal ain’t gonna curse you out, an animal ain’t gonna fight you,” he said. “It ain’t gonna show you nothing but love. So be cautious about what you do. Having a pet is a big responsibility, financially, emotionally. You’re gonna be attached to it. So you gotta be ready to take that responsibility: Always feed it, always groom it. You really gotta have devoted quality time for a dog…It’s important not to abuse dogs…Pick on somebody your own size…”
Last year, Waka appeared on a PETA poster wearing no clothes, as part of the anti-fur campaign. His tattoos were on display along with the slogan “Do Ink, Not Mink.” For the latest campaign to bring awareness to dog abuse, he posed alongside Daphna, a puppy rescued from the Atlanta Humane Society.
Waka Flocka Flame’s second studio album, Triple F Life: Friends, Fans & Family is due out this year. See the behind-the-scenes video of the PETA campaign below. –E. Parker, CBS Local
