Prior to the birth of Blue Ivy Carter, Beyonce became plagued with rumors that she wasn’t really pregnant. She’s addressed them before, but she now tells People magazine (who just named her the Most Beautiful Woman in the World) how she truly felt about the gossipy hubbub surrounding her first child with Jay-Z.

The 30-year-old superstar tells People, “That was crazy. It wasn’t hurtful, it was just crazy. [I thought] ‘Where did they come up with this?”

But apparently it was her mother, Tina Knowles, who was hurt the most by the consistent rumors of a faked pregnancy and surrogacy.  Her mother told People, “I thought it was very unfair and very cruel that someone would think that someone would be that diabolical to keep up a charade like that for nine months. As a mother it was painful for me to hear the crazy rumors. And I even had people ask me, which was so ridiculous.”

And what about the infamous incident on Australian TV where people swore up and down that the baby was a prosthetic which “collapsed” when Beyonce sat down? “It was a fabric that folded — does fabric not fold?”, she told the magazine. ” Oh my gosh, so stupid.”

Beyonce is preparing to resume performing, with shows scheduled at the Revel Resorts in Atlantic City over Labor Day Weekend, and has also recently made her online presence known.
