The most talked about video this week is one of an elderly school bus monitor from Greece, New York (a suburb of Rochester) who was being taunted by 7th graders. Karen Klein has become a YouTube sensation and the support for her is pouring in.

If you haven’t seen the video, be warned, it contains foul language and may offend some. In the video Klein is called “a troll” and “fat” and one of the 4 boys involved went as far as to say her entire family killed themselves to get away from her. (Her eldest son committed suicide a decade ago.)

Karen has since spoken to the press about the situation and has said that the families of the 4 kids involved have come forward and apologized. She is still waiting for an apology from the kids themselves though. She said she isn’t ready to see them face to face, but in due time, she’d like to hear them apologize.

One father, Robert Helm, spoke to Klein and CBS This Morning about the situation and said, “There’s not an excuse. And we’re going to get to the bottom of that, but it really broke my heart and I shed a lot of tears thinking about that whole thing and I just want you to know that my family, all of us, are deeply saddened by this whole thing and we’re going to get it right.”

Klein doesn’t want to see the boys face criminal charges but she feels they should learn from their actions by community service or not being allowed to ride the bus for a year.

The support for Karen to retire has been overwhelming, with an online donation site created called “Let’s Give Karen The Bus Monitor A Vacation.” The donations, as of 10:30 A.M. Friday morning, were at $482,000.
