With the 2012 presidential election right around the corner, Beyoncé and Alicia Keys are showing their support for Barack and Michelle Obama.

Alicia is heading to the Women Vote 2012 Summit today (July 16) in Philadelphia to talk about what this election year means for the fairer sex.

“Women have the power to decide this election,” a statement says about the event where the singer will be speaking. “But we’ve got to step up and get organized right now to make it happen.”

Alicia tweeted her excitement over the political event, writing:

This is not the first time Keys has shown her love for Obama. Besides being a big supporter in the last election as part of the Vote For Change campaign, which enlisted musicians to get out the vote for our current president, she recently performed alongside Mariah Carey at a re-election fundraiser in New York City. In 2009, Alicia even posed as the First Lady in a photoshoot for Glamour magazine.

“She has worked hard for everything she’s accomplished, and done so with grace and humility,” Keys told the mag. “So many women and girls can identify with her story.”

Beyoncé is just one of those many women who looks up to Michelle. In April, Bey posted a letter on her website that she wrote to Mrs. Obama calling her “the ultimate example of a truly strong African American woman.” Now she’s gone one step further: filming a video for the President’s website.

Speaking directly to the camera, Beyonce tells fans she posted the love note as a thank you.

“I wanted her to know, I’m grateful for everything she’s doing for our country and women around the world,” Bey explains.

The clip also features footage of the First Lady doing all that she does for the U.S. from keeping kids in shape as part of her Let’s Move! campaign to her initiative to help support veterans and their loved ones. The new mom, who wears her baby girl Blue Ivy’s name around her neck, praises Michelle saying, “I am proud to have my daughter grow up in a world where she has people like you to look up to.”
