When Eric Benet finished his show on Wednesday (July 25) at the DC Constitutional Hall, he met his biggest fan, first lady Michelle Obama.
“It was very cool meeting her,” Eric Benet told CBS Local. “She told me that she is my greatest fan and that there is not a time when she’s flying in a plane or helicopter when she is not listening to one or all of my CDs.”
Benet, who is outspoken politically and an unabashed Barack Obama supporter, was performing with singer Ledisi at the show. After meeting the first lady, he sent out a tweet affirming his support.
Reason #957 why I’ll be voting for president Obama’s 2nd term in Nov.– Ann Romney probably won’t be bumpin’ Eric Benet CD’s on air force 1

Aside from his political leanings, Benet recently told CBS Local about his plan to create an album of lullaby.
“When [my first daughter] India was a baby, I make up at least four or five original songs for her each day,” he said. “When it’s diaper changing time there’s the diaper song. There’s lemme-try-to-burp-you or to bounce you-around and watch-you-giggle [songs]. There’s a song for everything. I am really seriously thinking about writing an entire lullaby or parenting to baby album with songs like that.”
