As a special guest today on the Back In The Day Buffet, First Lady Michelle Obama put out the call for all young voters to make sure they were registered, and offered an easy registration solution with GottaVote.com for those still needing to register before the October 9th deadline.

But she couldn’t appear on the Back In The Day Buffet without throwing out requests for a couple of her favorite old school jams.

A fan of recently deceased rapper Heavy D, Obama launched into her own brief rendition of his 1989 hit “We Got Our Own Thang” (listen above) while also throwing out her request for Chubb Rock’s “Treat ‘Em Right.”

“A little Chubb Rock, a little Heavy D,” Obama offered up. “That’s on my iPod. That’s some of my ‘get me going music’.”
