‘Tis the season for holiday releases. We’ve heard our fair share of artists try their hand at “Baby, It’s Cold Outside” this month, but here are a few duets we really want to see.
Like so many others, including Kate Earl, we love the holiday classic and we weren’t too impressed with Olivia Newton-John and John Travolta’s version, so here are a few artists we think can put a unique and memorable spin on the track.
1. Taylor Swift and One Direction’s Harry Styles
Last week, Olly Murs confirmed Haylor. Now that the cat’s out of the bag for Taylor and Harry, why don’t the two up their romantic game and release a romantic holiday duet? Since Taylor has been going the pop route as of late why not transform the track to add a new chorus. Think: “We are never ever getting back into the cold. Like, ever.”
2. Ke$ha and Adam Lambert
A disco-fied version of this song is what we truly need. Wouldn’t you like to see who can wear the most glitter in the music video? We know we do!
3. Beyonce and Jay-Z
Isn’t it time the couple release a new song together? Just think of how lovely Blue Ivy would sound in the background of Jay-Z’s raps.
4. P!nk and Skrillex
If Florence Welch can team up with Calvin Harris for “Sweet Nothing,” we’re thinking P!nk and Skrillex would make an excellent duo for a unique clubtastic approach.
5. NKOTB and Selena Gomez
Justin Bieber turned heads with Boys II Men. Selena Gomez can surely do the same with her vocals on New Kids On the Block’s signature sound.
6. JLo and Pitbull
Why not? JLo and Pitbull sure know how to start a party so why haven’t they teamed up for a Christmas song yet? We think it’s about time.
7. Katy Perry and Rihanna
This will certainly be a game changer but if any two girls can transform the song into a believable duet it’s Katy and Rihanna. After all, Katy’s already sang “I Kissed A Girl.”
8. PSY and Rebecca Black
The most beloved and most hated singers of the past two years, we think this duo just might break the Internet. Since PSY’s already transformed the words to “Gangnam Style” to “Oppan Christmas style” for his Christmas In Washington performance, “Baby It’s Cold Outside” should come easy.
9. Britney Spears and Austin Mahone
This combo just might be the only one that will allow us to forget Olivia Newton-John and John Travolta’s version.
10. Gotye and Carly Rae Jepsen
These two artists had the biggest hits of the year. We think they’ll trump all the contenders.
