Cross-genre musical collaborations are so hot right now. Emerging hip-hop star A$AP Rocky recruited EDM golden boy Skrillex and his proteges Birdy Nam Nam to produce “Wild for the Night” on Rocky’s debut full-length, Long.Live.ASAP. Pop star Miley Cyrus raised eyebrows by corralling Odd Future bad boy Tyler, the Creator for her next release, which will also feature hip-hop hero Pharrell Williams. And if a certain ascending R&B singer has his way, he’ll soon join those ranks by working with rock’s reigning renaissance man.
In an exclusive interview with Radio.com, Miguel revealed that collaborating with Jack White is at the top of his musical wish list, particularly on a full-length album.
“His range is like incredible, and it would be extremely unexpected. Because when people say ‘best of both worlds,’ they always think hip-hop and R&B,” Miguel said, referencing Jay-Z and R. Kelly’s collaborative album, The Best of Both Worlds.
