It’s no secret that Taylor Swift sells records like they’re going out of style, and Selena Gomez is riding high after her very public relationship with Justin Bieber, so do other celebrities think the two flaunt their personal lives to gain fame?

It sounds like Demi Lovato thinks so.

The “Heart Attack” singer recently said in an interview, “A lot of celebrities don’t open up to their fans, they just tell them what they want to hear. They don’t really tell them things that can benefit their lives, they just, you know, maybe flaunt around a boyfriend and sell a couple of albums. That’s not what my career is about.”

Did Demi take a jab at her former BFF Selena and her not-so-close friend, Taylor?

Let’s dissect what Demi said… “A lot of celebrities don’t open up to their fans, they just tell them what they want to hear.” Pretty sure Taylor is an open book since her albums are about her personal life, and Selena’s new song sounds like it’s about a past relationship with Justin Bieber, so that could very well be a hint of jealousy Miss Demi.

Next she says “They don’t really tell them things that can benefit their lives, they just, you know, maybe flaunt around a boyfriend and sell a couple of albums.” Please reference Taylor’s songs “Mean” or “Fifteen,” and Selena’s songs “Live Like There’s No Tomorrow,” or “Who Says.”

She then goes on to say, “That’s not what my career is about.” Well good for you, but don’t take other people’s careers and diminish them. It’s never a good career move to slam others. Just ask Taylor how she felt after she dissed Tina Fey and Amy Phoeler.
